Pledges come True!!. Tuesday June 13, 2006

Today the weather was a mixed bag. Sun, rain, clear, rain, with some humidity to add as well. I cycled to work in the morning before the rain came. Work was steady as we are having a fabric sale this week. Father's DAy sale!! Go figure. NOt many men in picking up fabric!!
Bob arrived for me and after I closed up I had to run into Sobey’s to pick up a few thing for tonight’s Kennebecasis Valley Quilt Guild’s pot luck. It is the guild closing for the summer and we always end with a pot luck dinner. They are great events as the food is super, great variety of dishes and wonderful desserts. Two of the guild members, Joan MacDonald and Lynn Armstrong earlier initiated that a “silent auction” be held during the evening with the proceeds to be directed to Bob and myself for the Bike for Bibles Tour. I was deeply touched and felt honoured that members of the guild would do this in support of our trip. The evening was fun and raised $871.50 which was given to me and will be forwarded to the Canadian Bible Society. I cannot express enough my gratitude to each and everyone who participated to make it a fun and successful event. Thank you to all members!!! I have now reached my goal, raising the required $5,000. Now to help Bob reach his target.
We didn’t get for a ride today….but tomorrow is the club ride and should be fun!!
