Quick Chick Ride, Tuesday June 6

Another good turn, 23 gals, out on Tuesday night for the "girlie" ride. Most of the women are triatheletes, so are in great shape and they love to spin along, as if they are participating in a race. I am sure the motorists must find it a bit frustrating passing such a large group. Once out of the town, we can find a quiet back road where there is little to no traffic and a much more enjoyable ride as we can chat with different people along the route. Coming back along the Old McKay Highway seems to become the race course as we jockey for position. It is along this stretch that I like to "work" a bit harder, as we pick up the pace and spin along in top gear. Lots of fun. Following the ride we congregate at the Irving Big Stop on Dolan Road, for something to eat, to chat and get to know one another a bit better. Lots of fun. Our distance tonight was 35.77 km and average speed was 23.6. Now I have 1635.8 km on my odomoter for the season. A little behind where I want to be, but that's ok.
