Showery Saturday
Yesterday afternoon Judy called to come over for tea, and Diane joined us so we had an "informal" meeting of the Sew What guild. At one point Diane jumped to look out the window because she saw an unfamiliar sight.....brightness with a flicker of the sun and a bit of blue sky. Judy left to rush home to her garden. Diane and I went to her home to play a game of scrabble.....with me being victorious.
Well, we were blessed in that the rain held off, again, and Bob and I left just before 6 for a ride. Due to the unpredictablility of the weather we donned our rain jackets, just in case. We did a nice ride through Stockfarm Rd. and followed the Hammond River leading back through the Bonney Road and back to the old McKay before heading up through Meenan's Cove Rd. It was pleasant and great to be riding after such a week of wet weather. I "bonked" coming up the back of Meenan's Cove, but was close enough to home to be able to keep a good pace. I was mentally preparing dinner, figuring out what we had in the fridge and how long it would take to prepare. When you are ravenous, timing is important!! We arrived home shortly after 8 having done 52 km in just over two hours, almost reaching our goal of 24 km per hour.
The rain started again shortly after our return.
Today is Saturday, and the weather.....muggy and wet. Supposed to be that way for the next two days. I am going to work, and hopefully we can find a break in weather around 5 to get out for a ride when I get home.
